Google Product Listing Ads Or Amazon Product Ads?

It’s an interesting debate, about what is more beneficial to a store between Google Product Listing Ads and Amazon Product Ads. Well thankfully for you all we have the results here, thanks for the wonderful people at CPC Strategy.

First of all we will look at CPC or Cost Per Click.

It was in the 3rd quarter of 2012 that Google started to move its free product search listings over to its new paid service. During this time, clicks cost an average of $0.30, rising slightly to $0.31 towards the end of the year. This figure was approximately 30% cheaper than Amazon’s Product Ads, as shown below:

Towards the end of 2011, which was the year before this study was carried out, Amazons Product Ads sent over twice the traffic than Googles Product search. By the end of 2012 (the year of the study), this had completely flipped around and Google now  almost doubles Amazon. The thing to note here though is that it’s not due to Amazon’s traffic reducing but just the fact that Google produced so much extra.

Conversions is the only area in which Amazon still has a hold over Google. Amazon is considered one of the most trusted companies worldwide and anyone that has used it before can see why, with it’s excellent service. Amazon has the best conversion rate of all the major shopping engines and is continuously increasing. Google is now behind Amazon in this and in addition, continued to decline throughout all of 2012.

It is clear to see that both Google and Amazon are huge in terms of size and numbers at what they do and therefore we here at FeedPlatform would strongly advise you to use them both.
